“In fidelity to the example of the Master, it is vitally important for the Church today to go forth and preach the Gospel to all: to all places, on all occasions, without hesitation, reluctance or fear. The joy of the Gospel is for all people: no one can be excluded.”
(Pope Francis, EG 23)
In response to the call of Jesus and the Church to share the Gospel with all people, CHARIS England & Wales are providing formation for leadership in mission and evangelisation.
This will take place over two residential courses: a long weekend in October 2026 and a week in April 2027. Please note that attendance at both courses is essential.
PART 1: Friday 23 to Monday 26 October 2026
Moses - Beyond the Desert
A study of the life of Moses exploring spiritual principles of missionary leadership.
This course enables us:
to go forward, in faith, discovering new potential that we have as leaders in mission
to learn from Moses’ success and failure, helping us to become servant leaders with a heart for mission.
to learn, from the experience of Moses, that no leader ‘owns’ their position, it always belongs to God as does the work to which they are called.
PART 2: Monday 29 March to Sunday 4 April 2027
Paul
Why evangelise? How do we do it? This course offers a theological foundation of what the Church teaches about mission with formation on how we can put that into practice.
This course enables us:
to grow in our understanding of mission
to gain practical experience of the proclamation of the Gospel.
to explore how we can be missionary leaders in our communities.
