Tammy Fernando has written a book to help young people encounter Jesus in the Eucharist called Finding Jesus.
Tammy, who has a passion for faith-filled storytelling, is hoping that, through her story, young people ‘will see ‘the Presence of God’ throughout the ages – and especially in the Eucharist.’
The story concerns Chris and Shani, who are regular characters in Tammy’s stories, building a Walk-in Tabernacle and discovering that Jesus is truly present. It is a Catholic children's book about the Eucharist, the tabernacle, and saying sorry.
Tammy said: “My desire is that children will eventually see the connection between the Tabernacle of the Old Testament and the Tabernacle in our Catholic churches.”

Tammy's hopes for Finding Jesus
Tammy is encouraging adults to read Finding Jesus 'again and again' to children in their care, and shared her hopes that those who hear the story will “see ‘the Presence of God’ throughout the ages.”
She said: “For the youngest hearts this may not happen when they hear the story for the first time, but as they hear it again and again, with their parents pointing out the presence of Jesus, God the Father and God the Holy Spirit, in their colours of red, yellow and pale purple/lilac throughout the story, I hope that this will happen.”
Tammy Fernando has been drawn to writing Christian fiction books for young children after a call from the Lord in 2015. In her writing, Tammy emphasises the need for a personal relationship with the Lord, and seeks to show young people that the Holy Trinity is continually present and always helping us. She is excited and honoured that the Lord has asked her to guide children to the heart of God through her writing.
Tammy's hopes for children to be 'full of the Holy Spirit'
Finding Jesus comes after the publication of Tammy's previous children’s books, A Prayer from the Heart, Lost Until the Light Comes and The Road to Joseph.
Tammy said she is ‘so excited about this book (Finding Jesus)’, adding: “My hope is that, as your child listens to the story, he/she will also see the connection, just as little Chris and little Shani did. Hopefully, they will also see the enormity of what is happening in the supernatural – beyond the veil."
With an accompanying guide to help children encounter the presence of Jesus in the story, Tammy hopes that children 'will start to see the enormous lengths that Jesus (and the Holy Trinity) has taken so that He can be as close to them as possible – inside their body, flooding them with grace upon grace to become more holy and full of the Holy Spirit.'
